INSTANDA hires ex-Aviva lead to head-up Life and Health expansion

INSTANDA, the leading customer and policy management platform for the insurance industry, announces the appointment of Will Wood to Head of Life and Health. Will Wood joins INSTANDA after 15 years at Aviva. He will be responsible for growing and managing INSTANDA’s Life and Health business, which has expanded rapidly in the last two years.

COVID-19 has brought a renewed focus on life and health and represents an opportunity for insurers. But carriers have faced pressure to adapt to the changing demands of brokers and consumers; to tailor policies to individual needs; to embrace online consultations; provide employers with more flexibility; and to better integrate data from fitness devices.

The INSTANDA platform is one of the only technology solutions allowing insurers to respond to these innovations, modernising insurance for brokers, SMEs, and customers alike.

The appointment of Will Wood follows the major appointment of former senior Swiss Re executive Trevor Davis to Managing Director of Life and Health in 2019. Since then, INSTANDA’s Life and Health segment has worked with clients to reduce the cost, and time, of bringing products to market, allowing insurance to embrace 21st century technologies such as IoT and AI.

Will Wood, Head of Life and Health at INSTANDA commented: “I’ve worked in the insurance industry for over 15 years. But now more than ever it is clear that the future of the industry depends on insurers’ adoption of world-class technology. At Aviva I saw the potential of solutions like INSTANDA to increase efficiency and deliver cost-effective industry-leading products to customers. As Head of Life and Health, my ambition is to oversee INSTANDA’s transition to the no.1 solution infrastructure for insurance businesses.”

Trevor Davis, Managing Director of Life and Health commented: “The life and health insurance sector is at an inflection point right now. Characterised by rising claims for insurers and rising premiums for customers. The industry urgently needs a greater focus on efficiency, speed, and telematics which only technology can bring. So, we’re delighted to announce that Will is joining our team of ex-industry experts and IT professionals working to do just that. His knowledge of the market, combined with his network and contacts, will be invaluable for INSTANDA”.
